Who We Serve
Low-income homeowners who are elderly, disabled or with children at home, and non-profit facilities are eligible for our services. Homeowners must be unable to do the work themselves.
Individual families and nonprofit facilities are referred to us through community agencies, service groups, neighbors or by self-referral. To be eligible for the Rebuilding Together Eastside program, the house must be in the region bordered by Kenmore/Bothell, the east side of Lake Washington (including Mercer Island), south to Renton and the eastern boundary of King County.
All repairs are free for homeowners. Labor and many supplies are typically donated. Homeowners and family members are asked to welcome the volunteers into their homes and work alongside them to the extent possible. Our work is done with families and neighborhoods, not for them. How Applications are Evaluated
After an application is received, Rebuilding Together previews each home or facility and selects those appropriate for our program based on our mission of providing "warmth, safety and independence."
All labor is volunteered. The work we do includes painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, flooring, windows and doors, wall repairs, weather-stripping, yard tidy up, etc. We do ask that all able-bodied household members join in the work.
